How We Started the Magic
It started long before there was a business.
Before Ultimate Santa had a name, a website, a team of entertainers or hundreds of Christmas events on the calendar, Santa was already part of our family story.
In fact, the story didn't even start with my Dad.
It started with my Grandpa.
My Dad's dad was Santa too.
Christmas, family traditions and creating magic for children have been woven into our family for generations. But none of us knew then that one day those traditions would grow into something so much bigger.
Then My Dad Became Santa
My Dad, Dale, didn't become Santa when I was a little girl.
His Santa story began later, around the time I was starting a family of my own.
And suddenly, Santa wasn't just someone my children visited at Christmas.
Santa was Papa.
What began as something special for our own family quickly became something special for other families too.
Dad had a natural ability to connect with children. He didn't simply put on the suit and pose for a picture. He listened. He laughed. He remembered the little details.
Most importantly, he made children believe.
And I started to realize there was something very special about what he was doing.
In 2015, Everything Changed
What started as my Dad being Santa eventually became the beginning of Calgary Ultimate Santa.
At the time, the idea was actually pretty simple:
What if families could experience the kind of Santa magic we believed in?
Not a rushed visit.
Not just a costume.
Not simply a photograph.
A real experience.
One where children felt like Santa genuinely knew them. Where parents could stand back and watch the wonder happening. Where those few minutes became part of a family's Christmas story.
So in 2015, we started building exactly that.
We had no idea where it would lead.
One Santa Became Something Much Bigger
As word spread, families started coming back.
Then companies called.
Community events called.
More Santas joined us.
Then came Mrs. Claus, Elves, the Grinch, holiday characters, photographers, face painters, balloon artists, glitter tattoo artists and an entire team working behind the scenes.
What began with one Santa grew into a full-service holiday entertainment agency with a team of professional entertainers creating Christmas experiences throughout Calgary, Okotoks and communities across Alberta.
But growth was never about becoming the biggest.
It was about being able to create more magic for more people.
We Learned That the Little Things Matter
Over the years, we've learned something important.
Children may not remember every present they received.
They may not remember exactly what decorations were hanging on the wall.
But they remember how Christmas felt.
They remember Santa knowing their name.
They remember Mrs. Claus reading them a story.
They remember an Elf making them laugh.
They remember trying desperately not to smile when the Grinch walked into the room.
And parents remember watching it happen.
Those are the moments we're here to create.
More Than Entertainment
Today, Ultimate Santa is much more than the little business we started in 2015.
Behind every event is a team coordinating entertainers, schedules, costumes, photography, logistics, backup plans and countless little details our clients never have to see.
Because our job isn't simply to send someone dressed as Santa to an event.
Our job is to protect the magic.
That's why we take what we do so seriously.
Professional entertainers.
Quality costumes.
Background checks.
Experienced event coordination.
Backup planning.
And a team that understands that when a child meets Santa, we only get one chance to make that moment magical.
And Dad Is Still at the Heart of It
After all these years, Santa Dale remains a very special part of Ultimate Santa.
He's watched something that started with our family grow into a Christmas tradition for thousands of other families.
And now another generation of our own family is growing up surrounded by the magic too.
From my Grandpa...
to my Dad...
to my children...
to my grandchildren...
Christmas magic has become part of our family's story.
And somehow, along the way, our family tradition became our family business.
The Magic Continues
More than a decade after we started, our purpose hasn't really changed.
We still believe Christmas should feel magical.
We still believe children deserve to experience wonder.
We still believe traditions matter.
And we still get excited every time we see that unmistakable look on a child's face when they realize...
Santa is here.
Because at Ultimate Santa, we're not simply in the entertainment business.
We're in the memory-making business.
